About Us

Hearts of Hope is a grassroots, non-profit organization that has been serving Kane County and the surrounding counties since 2000 providing support and education to those affected by chemical dependency

Originally co-founded with unselfish love and dedication, Hearts of Hope was incorporated in 2002. Lea Minalga a co-founder, continues to be a tireless warrior along witht the help of volunteers and HOH friends in providing HOPE to those who feel hopeless in their battle with addiction.

Lea Minalga, Executive Director of Hearts of Hope, is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Lea has been nationally recognized and has spoken in DC on several occasions. She has earned recognition as a past "Citizen of the Year". In addition to holding bi-monthly support meetings, Lea offers individual and family counseling at an hourly rate.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to give people HOPE for the future!

Hearts of Hope offers compassion, support, encouragement and HOPE to those individuals and families afflicted by the disease of chemical dependency.
We strive to remove the stigma and shame attached to this disease and provide a path to sobriety and health through education and support. You are not alone and this is not a singular disease, it affects family, friends and co-workers. We are here to support all of you.
It is our passion and mission to sound the alarm that ALL children are vulnerable and together we must be pro-active advocates in preserving a drug-free environment for our children today and in the future.

Services

Narcan Training and Provision

We offer teaching in using Narcan and provide a limited supply

Treatment Referral and Off Site Drug Testing

Referral to treatment facilities and drug tests are given to those in need

Support Outreach

Outreach to all the support needed on the way to curing addiction

20 Minute Guide for Parents and Partners

20 minute guides on how to help your loved ones with their addiction

Bereavment Referral Counseling

We provide referrals to counseling for bereavement for the help you need

Individual Private Counseling

Private counseling offered to those who want individual help and attention for their addiction
